Manoja Ratnayake Lecamwasam,
PhD Dr. Lecamwasam has been a Co-Director of the Catholic Healthcare West Intellectual Innovation Network (CHWiin) office at Catholic Healthcare West's St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center since September 2006. The CHWiin office is a new department in the CHW system and currently manages and commercializes all intellectual property for each of the 43 Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) Hospitals in Arizona, Nevada, and California. Prior to coming to CHW, Dr Lecamwasam served as a Senior Licensing Associate/Licensing Associate in the Office of Corporate Sponsored Research and Licensing at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) for five years. Her primary responsibilities at MGH included managing patent prosecution, IP agreement negotiations, and marketing and commercialization of intellectual property portfolios of the Wellman Center for Photomedicine and the Department of Radiology. Dr Lecamwasam has 11 years of hands-on research and instructor experience in molecular biology, microbiology, bacterial genetics, and biochemistry. She holds a PhD degree in Molecular Microbiology from the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, a MSc degree in Molecular Biology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and a BA with honors in Biology from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Dr Lecamwasam is an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES). |
